Praying is personal.

When our friends are struggling, we pray for them. And they pray for us.

But how often do we pray with each other, not just for each other?

This is so special, Lisa. Praying with someone on the spot has blessed me in such powerful ways. I never have a regret when I stop in my tracks to pray “with” and not just “for.” Your Scriptures are great and can be such a help at those moments. I used to be afraid to pray in public, on the sidewalk, in the middle of the store, etc., but no more. The person I am praying with seems gratefully blessed.
Blessings to you this Easter weekend.

I’ve got a strong hunch that if met in person, you would stop and pray over me. And I would love that. Thanks for your example and your love for other people, Linda. It shows in your words and I’m sure it does in your actions for those you live among. Have a blessed Easter too!

When I was teaching, I often prayed with Muslim students who were a long way from home, and feeling pretty out-of-place.

They knew that they were welcome to spread a prayer rug in my office – I had a mark on the wall pointing to Mecca – and were tickled that I, a Christian, would join them in rakat.

It helped some overcome despair, and I figured God understood.

A Happy Easter to you and yours!

I’m not surprised by your heart in doing this, Andrew. “It helped some overcome despair, and I figured God understood.” I think he understands far more than we give him credit for, yes? We too often underestimate his goodness. God bless you. Hope you and Barbara have a blessed Easter as well!

Lisa – Thank you for sharing your post this week at #TuneInThursday

It is so very important to not just pray for others, or have them pray for us, but to pray together – when hearts come together and unite over agreeing in prayer it is POWERFUL! I love the printable too. thank you so much. Blessed Easter Weekend to you

I agree it is so powerful when we put our hearts and words together in the presence of our Father. Thanks for hosting us each Thursday, Debbie. I appreciate what you’re doing for the Kingdom. May you have a blessed Easter as well!

Thank you, Ceil. We were so blessed this weekend with Easter services that were truly celebratory of our risen Savior. Currently our AC is broken at our house, but thankfully the temps have only gotten to 80 today so all is well. 🙂

Praying with our friends is powerful. I think it bonds us together on a deeper level and I love that it provides accountability. Sometimes a friend will ask about something we prayed for together- and only then do I realize that God, indeed, answered that prayer. Thank you for sharing these encouraging words. And thank you for linking with Grace and Truth last week. I would love to feature this post tomorrow!
