H – Hearts Are Reminders {26 Surprising Ways to Encounter God, A-Z}
“Though our feelings come and go, God’s love for us does not.”
– C.S. Lewis
H—Hearts
Hearts are our culture’s icons of love. While the heart shape as we know it is not the shape of our physical hearts, it’s the one we recognize as the center of our souls.
Try This
Scan the room you’re in right now.
- Is there a heart or something resembling a heart right where you are?
- Trace a heart in the air.
- Put your hand over your own heart and listen to the beats to a count of 50.
Thank God for surrounding you with images of love.
Let them remind you of his real love for you. Send hearts today on your own communications to keep spreading his love around the world.
The greatest commandment is love. Let it be so with us today!

I love to look for hearts from God. Visiting you from Barbie’s but I have visited before.
That’s cool, Jamie. I haven’t really done it before. I’m seeing a heart shape right now on some leaves as I sit outside.
Lisa … I’m enjoying your series … love the many serendipitous ways we can encounter and enjoy our Almighty God!
Thanks, Linda. I love how God *wants* us to encounter him in everything we do. I’m so thankful that he’s good like that. 🙂
I love hearts. I’ve found them on my nature walks, carved in tree trunks and disguised as rocks. Thanks for sharing at #glimpses this week.
I love how we truly are surrounded by signs of God’s love everywhere we go! Thanks for sharing, Barbie.
I’m not seeing a heart right now, but I sure can feel my own beating! I do collect hearts though – I especially like the ones made out of stones or glass. I suppose they remind me that true love is only found by having a relationship to The Rock, the only One who sees through all my *outside* stuff to the true beat of my heart.
GOD BLESS!
I love how you connect hearts with “rock”, Sharon! Beautiful. My church is called The Rock so I particularly like this. 🙂
Actually there is a huge red heart on my desk top so I see it everytime I open my computer. I still have a picture a missionary sent me of a perfect heart grown into a tree, I need to frame it and display it’s beauty for man did not carve this heart, God moved natures wind and rain to draw a heart into that tree. Good thought Lisa.
I’m glad you’re seeing at least 2 hearts right now, Betty. Very cool that you have a heart on your desktop! I need to add one on mine. I have pictures of my daughter’s kindergarten students on my desktop–and they have my heart–but I should add an actual heart to the picture as well. 🙂
Love, love, love! (get it? 😉 ) lol! I don’t think there is any coincidence in the fact that the heart and it’s representation of love is a predominant symbol in our world! “For God so loved the world!”:-)
Thanks, friend! Love the printable, too!
I do get it! 🙂 Thanks, Lori. I’m still looking around for hearts today because I know Love surrounds us everywhere.
