Grace pays it all
Excerpt from Transforming Grace
“God says to us, Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost. (Isaiah 55:1)
The gospel is addressed to those who have no money or good works. It invites us to come and ‘buy’ salvation without money and without cost.
But note the invitation to come is addressed to those who have no money, not to those who don’t have enough. Grace is not a matter of God’s making up the difference, but of God’s providing all the ‘cost’ of salvation through His Son, Jesus Christ.”

Every day in October I’m sharing a short quote on grace from a favorite book.
- You can’t exhaust God’s grace
- You’re not a pendulum, Christian
LOVE that distinction, Lisa … it’s for those who don’t have a blessed thing.
It’s for me.
He knew I needed it …
Awesome quote! So powerful.
It’s not about us…it’s all about Him. He paid it all. We simply reap the benefits.
What a gracious God we have!
That is something to be thankful for, isn’t it? Thank you for sharing.
Exactly.
Hi Lisa,
I like that chapter and the next verses “Then your soul will delight in the richest of fare!” isn’t that exciting and hope-filled? God invites us to have our souls delighted in him.
Nice to be here again,
